The paper carefully uses data collected through three forms of ethnographic studies and presents a structured argument that manages to cover a significant amount of historical and political contexts which shed light on one of the most crucial conflicts in India today. Though it uses politically and culturally loaded phrasing, it raises very important questions about the discourse of alienation between Hindus and Muslims in the current political climate and how history and historical remnants can be used to influence this discourse in a positive manner.
